Private Blood test collection
Arranging a private blood test with us is straightforward and client-focused. Here’s how the process works:
Blood Test Kit: Once your kit arrives, book your appointment online at a time that suits you
Blood Test Form: Your GP, consultant, or clinician provides a form with the necessary details for your test. Book your appointment online or contact us, ensuring we review the blood test form beforehand to confirm any special test requirements.
Booking an Appointment: Once you have the necessary paperwork or your blood test kit, contact us to book your appointment.
Blood Collection: During your appointment, our phlebotomist will collect your sample with care and professionalism.
Preparing and Sending Your Sample: We ensure the sample is properly prepared for transportation to the laboratory, or if it’s a blood test kit via post which you will post yourself.
Receiving Your Results: Based on the testing arrangements, the requesting clinician or service will contact you with your results.
Most private blood test kits come complete with packaging, instructions, and the necessary forms, which you should have ready for your appointment.

Some clients may experience mild bruising or tenderness at the site of the blood draw, which usually resolves within a few days. In rare cases, complications such as a hematoma (a collection of blood outside the blood vessels) or nerve irritation can occur. Our phlebotomists are highly trained to handle these situations and will provide guidance if needed.If you notice persistent pain, significant bruising, or any unusual symptoms after your appointment, we recommend seeking further medical advice.

Yes, we follow strict safety protocols, including aseptic non-touch techniques, single-use needles, and personal protective equipment (PPE). Our phlebotomists have hospital backgrounds, bringing a high level of skill and experience to each appointment.

We offer blood collection services for a wide range of at-home test kits from reputable providers, including Medichecks, Lola, and Balance My Hormones. These providers collaborate with UKAS-accredited labs and adhere to CQC regulations, ensuring the highest standards of safety and accuracy in testing.
9. Who handles my sample after collection and how do I access my results?
Once collected, your sample is given back to you to send directly to the specified laboratory as per your test kit instructions. Our role is to ensure a safe and effective blood draw, but clients are responsible for sending the sample for testing. Please note that we are not responsible for your test results; for any questions about results, contact your test kit provider directly.
10. What if I need to reschedule or cancel my appointment?
If you need to reschedule or cancel, please do so at least 24 hours in advance. This can ll be done online. According to our terms, changes made less than 24 hours before the appointment may incur a fee. This policy helps us manage schedules effectively and accommodate other clients. Absolutely! Our experienced phlebotomists are trained to support clients with needle phobia, ensuring a calm and comfortable experience. We understand that being in your own home can make a big difference, helping you feel more at ease. We’ll take the time to talk through the process, use gentle techniques, and adapt the experience to suit your needs. Your comfort and well-being are our priority.

Currently, our services are tailored for adults aged 18 and over. However, we are actively working to expand our offerings to include children in the near future. Our prices start from £75, depending on your location:
Zone 1 Swindon: From £75 (includes areas within ~5 miles of SN2 8DN)
Zone 2: From £85 (villages and towns ~5–10 miles from Swindon, such as Royal Wootton Bassett and Highworth)
Weekend appointments are subject to a £40 surcharge. For additional blood draws at the same appointment or for multiple test kits, discounted rates apply. For custom requests or further details, please contact us directly.

Welcome to The Phlebotomist Ltd. These Terms and Conditions outline the obligations, rights, and responsibilities of clients using our mobile phlebotomy services. By booking and using our services, you agree to adhere to the following:

The Phlebotomist Ltd provides professional mobile phlebotomy services for private clients, ensuring safe and efficient blood collection at a time and place convenient for you.
3. Appointment Bookings
Appointments must be booked through our online booking platform, by email or via phone.
Confirmation of your appointment will be sent to you via email or text message.
It is the client's responsibility to provide accurate information at the time of booking, including contact details, relevant medical information, and the nature of the required tests.
4. Cancellations and Rescheduling
Cancellations or rescheduling must be done a minimum of 24 hours before the appointment.
If a cancellation or rescheduling request is made less than 24 hours before the appointment, the client will not be eligible for a full refund.
In the case of cancellation with more than 24 hours' notice, a full refund will be processed within 7 working days.
5. Risk Assessment Client Responsibilities
Risk assessments will be conducted to identify potential hazards associated with lone working activities. These assessments will inform the development of control measures to minimise risks.
The client must provide accurate information about any known medical conditions, including any past issues with blood collection.
The client should be present at the agreed location and time for the appointment. If the client is unavailable at the scheduled time, the session will be considered as a no-show, and no refund will be issued.
Clients must ensure that the environment is suitable for the phlebotomist (e.g., access to a clean, safe workspace and ensuring pets are kept in a separate area).
6. Health and Safety
The Phlebotomist Ltd follows strict hygiene and safety protocols, including the use of appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and infection control practices.
If the client is showing symptoms of illness or has been exposed to an infectious disease, it is their responsibility to inform The Phlebotomist Ltd prior to the appointment to ensure proper procedures are followed.
7. Special Blood Tests
For certain time-sensitive or temperature-sensitive tests, The Phlebotomist Ltd may not be able to provide services. Examples of such tests can be found in the table below. Clients will be advised in advance if they need to visit a hospital or another facility to complete these tests. Should there be any uncertainty regarding a test's specific requirements, we will liaise with our local Pathology Laboratory to confirm the necessary procedures and handling protocols to ensure the highest quality of service.

The Phlebotomist Ltd reserves the right to refuse service if the environment is unsafe or if the client displays inappropriate behaviour.
Aggressive, abusive, or discriminatory behaviour towards our staff will not be tolerated and may result in termination of the service without a refund.
9. Complaints Process
Clients who are dissatisfied with the service provided can submit a formal complaint using our Complaints Form, available upon request.
Complaints will be handled in line with our Complaints Policy, and the client will receive an acknowledgment within 2 working days.
We aim to resolve complaints within 28 working days.
10. Privacy and Data Protection
Client personal data will be handled in accordance with our Information Governance and Record Keeping Policy and the Data Protection Act 2018.
Information collected will only be used for the purpose of providing our service and will not be shared with third parties unless necessary to fulfil our service (e.g., communication with the lab or healthcare provider).
11. Limitation of Liability
While The Phlebotomist Ltd will take all reasonable precautions to ensure a safe and professional service, we are not liable for any adverse effects resulting from the blood draw. Potential adverse reactions may include, but are not limited to, bruising, hematoma, fainting, or minor infections.
We are also not liable for delays in results from third-party laboratories or any consequences arising from those delays.
