Tests & Services

What types of blood test kits do you support?

We offer our own range of blood test kits, which include the kit, professional blood draw and a doctor-reviewed results report.

We can also provide a blood draw for third-party test kits that require a venous blood sample. Please have your kit, packaging and paperwork ready for your appointment.

If you’re unsure whether your test is suitable for our service, contact us before booking and we’ll be happy to check.

What if I need to reschedule or cancel my appointment?

If you need to reschedule or cancel your appointment, please give us at least 24 hours’ notice. You can make changes through your booking confirmation link.

Appointments cancelled with less than 24 hours’ notice, or missed appointments, may be non-refundable because the appointment time has been reserved for you.

If you have purchased a Blood Test through us, any refund may also depend on whether your test has already been ordered, prepared or processed.

Full details can be found in our Terms and Conditions.

Do you offer blood collection services to children?

At the moment, our service is for adults aged 18 and over.

We hope to offer appointments for children in the future once the right paediatric clinical and safeguarding arrangements are in place.

If you’re looking for a blood test for a child, please contact an appropriate paediatric or healthcare service.

How much do your services cost?

Our pricing depends on the type of appointment and the blood test you choose.

Blood draw appointments are available in clinic and through our mobile service. Mobile appointments may include a travel fee depending on location.

If you book one of our blood test kits, the total price will depend on the test and whether you choose a clinic or mobile appointment.

All prices are shown clearly before you confirm your booking, so you’ll always know the full cost in advance.

What areas do you cover?

We’re based in Swindon and cover the town, surrounding villages and nearby areas of Wiltshire.

Mobile appointments are also available outside Swindon, with a travel fee of £1 per mile based on distance.

If you’re unsure whether we cover your area, please get in touch and we’ll be happy to check for you.

Before Your Appointment

How do I book an appointment?

Booking is simple. Visit our online booking page, choose a date and time that suits you, complete the forms, and make payment to confirm your appointment.

Once booked, you’ll receive a confirmation email with your appointment details and any relevant information.

If you prefer, you can also call or email us and we’ll be happy to help arrange your appointment.

How should I prepare for my blood test?

Most tests don’t require any special preparation, but some may ask you to fast, avoid certain foods or drinks, or have your blood taken at a particular time of day.

Any preparation instructions will be shown with your test and sent to you after booking. Please read them carefully before your appointment, as following the correct preparation can be important for some tests.

It can also help to stay well hydrated before your blood draw. Drink water as you normally would unless your test instructions tell you otherwise.

During Your Appointment

Will I experience bruising, discomfort, or complications after the blood draw?

You may have a small bruise or a little tenderness where the needle was inserted. This usually settles within a few days.

Our phlebotomists are highly experienced and take great care to make the blood draw as comfortable as possible.

Occasionally, you may notice a larger bruise or some mild swelling. This will usually settle on its own.

If you have ongoing pain, significant swelling or bruising, bleeding that does not stop, or anything else that concerns you, please contact an appropriate healthcare professional.

What should I expect during the appointment?

Your phlebotomist will make sure you are comfortable before starting and will prepare a clean, suitable area for your blood draw.

The blood draw itself is usually quick and only takes a few minutes. Most people describe the feeling as a small scratch or pinch.

Your phlebotomist will explain what is happening, check that you are comfortable throughout, and make sure you feel well before the appointment finishes.

Whether you visit our clinic or book a mobile appointment, we aim to make the experience calm, professional and straightforward.

What should I do if I feel faint or unwell during the appointment?

If you start to feel faint or unwell, tell your phlebotomist straight away.

Our phlebotomists are experienced in supporting clients who feel faint during blood draws. We can stop the blood draw if needed, help you get comfortable and give you time to recover before you leave.

We also ask about any previous fainting or problems with blood draws on your pre-appointment form, so we can be prepared and support you appropriately on the day.

Is the procedure safe?

Blood collection is a routine clinical procedure carried out by experienced phlebotomists.

We follow appropriate infection prevention and control, hygiene and safety procedures throughout every appointment, with your comfort and wellbeing at the centre of the blood draw.

I have needle phobia. Can you still help me?

Yes. Many of our clients feel anxious about needles or blood tests, and our phlebotomists are very experienced in supporting nervous clients.

We take things at your pace, explain what is happening, and give you the time you need to feel comfortable. If you have fainted before or know that blood tests make you anxious, we ask about this before your appointment so we can plan how best to support you.

You can also read our client reviews. Many people who were nervous or needle phobic have shared positive feedback about their experience with us.

Whether you visit our clinic or choose a mobile appointment, our aim is to make your blood draw feel as calm and comfortable as possible.

What’s included with your blood test kits?

Our blood test kits are designed to make the process simple from start to finish.

Each kit includes the test itself, your professional blood draw and a doctor-reviewed results report.

We bring the kit to your appointment, collect your blood sample and prepare it in line with the instructions provided.

Your sample is then returned for laboratory testing using the packaging and return method supplied with the kit.

Once your results are ready, they will be sent to you securely along with your doctor-reviewed report. You can then share them with your GP or healthcare practitioner if you would like to discuss them further.

After Your Appointment

What aftercare should I follow?

After your blood draw, keep the plaster or dressing in place for around 30–60 minutes.

Try to avoid heavy lifting with that arm for a few hours afterwards, as this may help reduce bruising or swelling.

If you notice mild tenderness or a small bruise, a cold compress may help. Avoid rubbing or massaging the area.

Any tenderness or bruising usually settles within a few days, although bruising can sometimes take a little longer.

What should I do if I feel faint or unwell after the appointment?

If you feel faint or unwell after your appointment, sit or lie down somewhere safe and rest until you feel better.

You may also find it helpful to drink some water.

If your symptoms do not settle, become worse, or you are concerned, please contact your GP, NHS 111 or another appropriate healthcare professional.

Who handles my sample after collection and how do I access my results?

If you’ve ordered one of our blood test kits, your sample will be collected and prepared in line with the instructions provided with the kit.

It will then be returned for testing using the packaging and return method supplied. Once your sample has been analysed, your results and doctor-reviewed report will be sent to you securely by email.

If you’re using a test kit from another provider, we will collect and prepare your sample in line with the instructions supplied. Your results will then be provided directly by your test provider.

Where a sample needs to be posted or returned by you, this will be explained at your appointment.
