Skin IQ Blood Test
£229.00 – £324.00Price range: £229.00 through £324.00
Your skin reflects more than just your skincare routine.
Skin IQ brings together 50 biomarkers covering nutritional health, omega fatty acid balance, iron status, vitamins, minerals, thyroid function, hormones, inflammation, blood health, liver function, kidney function, and blood sugar markers.
By assessing multiple areas of health together, it provides a broad overview of the markers that are commonly considered as part of a wider skin health assessment.
You might consider this test if you’re experiencing ongoing skin concerns, would like a broader understanding of the factors commonly associated with skin health, or are working with a healthcare practitioner to support your wellbeing.

Prepare for your test by following these instructions:
- Take your sample between 6am and 10am.
- If you have an unusual sleep pattern, your cortisol results may be unreliable. If you must test, do so within two hours of waking and let us know in your supporting information.
- Take this test when any symptoms of a short-term illness have settled.
- Take this test two to five days after the start of your period, ideally on day three if you\’re taking this test to learn more about your fertility. It can be taken at any time if you do not have periods.
- Avoid heavy exercise for 48 hours beforehand.
- For the most accurate omega fatty acid results, do not eat or drink anything other than water for 12 hours before your test. You may take your usual medications as normal.
- Stay well hydrated before your test.
- Corticosteroid medication can affect this test. Ask your doctor whether you should stop taking it before testing.
- Take your sample at least 24 hours after taking any vitamin or mineral supplements.
- If you take omega-3 supplements, wait until after your test to take them.
- Do not take biotin supplements for two days before this test. If biotin has been prescribed, discuss this with your doctor before stopping it.
- Do not take vitamin B12 for two weeks before this test. If your B12 has been prescribed, ask your doctor whether you should stop taking it.
- Hormonal contraception can affect the results of this test. Taking a break from hormonal contraception and waiting for your periods to restart before your blood test may provide more accurate results.
- If you take levothyroxine or desiccated thyroid extract (DTE), take your blood test before your dose for the most accurate thyroid function results. If your blood test is later in the day, leave at least six hours after taking levothyroxine (or 12 hours after DTE/T3 medication) before collecting your sample.
- Please let us know in your supporting information if you take amiodarone or lithium, as these can also affect your results.
